The Estonians were arrested on Tuesday in Estonia; the Justice Department is seeking their extradition to the United States. The Russian national remains at large.

The virus hijacked Internet searches and re-routed computers to websites and advertisements. For example, users trying to visit Apple's iTunes were re-directed to a different website claiming to sell Apple products. Netflix led to an unrelated website called "BudgetMatch."

Prosecutors say the defendants received fees each time a user visited one of the websites or ads.

The malware also prevented users from installing or updating anti-virus software.

They are all charged with five counts of wire and computer hacking crimes. One of the defendants is charged with 22 counts of money laundering.
