The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a drone that flew near a Southwest Airlines flight, the NBC News affiliate in Dallas is reporting

The drone was flying near the plane as it was approaching Dallas’s Love Field at the conclusion of a flight from Houston, according to the report.

The network said the FAA and Dallas police are searching for the operator of the drone.

The FAA also said air traffic controllers were able to see the drone from the Dallas airport’s flight tower.

The agency is trying to craft rules for the increased use of non-military drones, but regulators have said it is important to keep the devices away from commercial airplanes.
