Authorities probe how airline employee could steal plane
The man who stole an empty Horizon Air turboprop plane from Sea-Tac International Airport was named Richard Russell, a U.S. official briefed on the matter told The Associated Press.
The 29-year-old, whose nickname was "Beebo," worked as a ground service agent for Horizon Air, a regional airline that is a sister airline of Alaska Air.
Police said there was no terrorism link after the man flew the plane into the Puget Sound on Friday night following a chase by military jets.
