Viral video offers glimpse of 47-car pileup in Missouri

Dramatic video shows a 47-vehicle accident unfolding on a snowy interstate southeast of Kansas City, Mo., with the video receiving millions of views since being posted online Friday.
In the clip, which local news reporters identified as being recorded by a trucker involved in the crash named Javon Weaver, multiple cars, SUVs and 18-wheelers can be seen slamming into an increasing pileup on I-70 near Oak Grove, Mo.
Originally posted on Twitter by KCTV5 news producer Dante’ Jones, the video was viewed more than 5.3 million times in less than 24 hours.

A news report from local news station Fox4KC reported that one person was killed and dozens more were injured in the pileup. AccuWeather.com reported that 47 vehicles in total were involved in the crash.{mosads}
Video captured by Fox4KC reporter Nicole DiAntonio of the aftermath showed emergency crews struggling to rescue people stranded in damaged vehicles while removing debris and cars from the roadway.

“You could not really see until you got up close to everything, and then that is why everyone was stopping because no one could see ahead of them,” one driver who says she narrowly avoided the crash, Tarika Kendall, told Fox 4.
“[A] truck came by — right by my car — slammed into [another] car. And I don’t know. I don’t know how I made it out of it,” she added.
