About one in 10 Americans have never traveled outside their home state, and an almost similar amount said they have never flown in an airplane, according to a new poll.

A survey conducted by OnePoll found that 11 percent of respondents have never left the state in which they were born, and 54 percent said they have visited fewer than 10 states.

Thirteen percent said they have never flown in a plane, and 10 percent said they have no interest in traveling anywhere, according to the poll first reported by Forbes.

{mosads}When it comes to international travel, 40 percent said they have never left the country, and 63 percent of respondents in that group said an international trip would be outside their price range.

The lack of foreign and domestic travel for many Americans is not for lack of interest, according to the survey: 76 percent of respondents expressed a desire to travel more than they do now.

OnePoll surveyed 2,000 U.S. adults for a poll commissioned by luggage brand Victorinox.

OnePoll did not immediately respond to a request for additional methodology information like margin of error or when the survey was conducted.
