EVENTS MANAGER
The Hill is seeking an Events Manager for its growing team and events portfolio. This new position will work within a dynamic, dedicated team of events and marketing professionals to execute tentpoles, policy briefings, social engagements, and other events for our advocacy and corporate clients.   
 
Responsibilities
• Serve as primary project manager and client contact for a portfolio of events to ensure all benchmarks and deliverables are being met
• Coordinate communication between various departments of The Hill and client
• Arrange event logistics for portfolio of events to include: identifying potential venues, arranging appropriate food & beverage, procuring event decor, confirming A/V and livestreaming needs
• Negotiate and route vendor contracts
• Work with in-house and freelance graphic designers to develop to the creative identity of events
• Coordinate with Events Audience Coordinator and Social Media Manager to develop a comprehensive audience development process to develop robust audiences for The Hill’s events that represent a 360-degree view of sector and perspectives
• Provide support and guidance to audience coordinator in developing outreach lists and event promotional materials including creating compelling audience communications
• Prepare event materials and supplies

• Understanding of social media platforms and algorithms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite)
• Strong understanding of Washington, DC political/advocacy landscape and relationship management
• Experience with HTML web design, InDesign, event management software or CRM preferred

Ideal candidates should have 3-4 years’ experience with event management, public relations, advocacy, communications and/or marketing. Bachelor's degree is required.
