The National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, which represents more than 1,000 private, non-profits colleges and universities and related associations, seeks a Director of Student Aid Policy to provide policy analysis, development and advocacy on issues related to federal student aid programs and requirements for students and institutions under the Higher Education Act. Position requires an ability to analyze and craft legislative and regulatory language, identify and advocate for key policy proposals of interest to private, nonprofit colleges and strong written and verbal communications skills. Portfolio issue areas include federal student aid programs, financial responsibility standards, and regulatory issues such as borrower defense to repayment and gainful employment.  The successful candidate will have experiences in developing and understanding legislative and regulatory proposals, such as legislative work on Capitol Hill or with an association, or executive branch agency. Strong analytic, writing and speaking skills are essential. Salary commensurate with experience.
