Federal Relations Representative.

The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) invites applications for Federal Relations Representative.  The Federal Relations Representative works within ACWA’s Federal Relations Team in Washington, D.C.  The position will provide critical  advocacy regarding programs associated with water quality and supply, endangered species, watershed management, water management and other related regulations; interpret and communicate the impacts of federal legislation and/or regulations to member agencies; and advocate at Congress and federal agencies for the mitigation of those impacts.

The ideal candidate will have previous Hill experience, preferably involving the Executive Branch, knowledge of procedures, operations and functions of state and federal regulatory agencies, legislative and regulatory research experience, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.  Knowledge of California water policy is highly desirable.  Candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a job related field, with an advanced degree desirable, and a minimum of one year of federal legislative and regulatory relations experience required.
