The National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) is seeking a Communications Director to lead all components of its communications efforts, including marketing, social media, and active engagement with national, state, and local media, policymakers, and the public. The Communications Director will work closely with the Executive Director, NAST staff, and NAST members to review, enhance, and execute a creative and effective communications plan. The organization is transitioning from outsourced communication support services to an in-house role, which provides the selected candidate a great opportunity to shape and lead a refreshed communications strategy for a national association in support of State Treasurers and other state fiscal officers as they work to improve the lives of their constituents.  The selected candidate will also work closely with the policy and advocacy team to help get our message across to national and state policymakers in support of NAST’s mission.

NAST (www.nast.org) is the association of State Treasurers who serve as the state CFOs and manage functions such as financing of infrastructure, investment and cash management (managing over $3.5 trillion in public funds), college savings plans (529s), ABLE savings plans, returning unclaimed property, and promoting financial education and wellness.  The selected candidate will join 6 other staff in supporting the mission of State Treasurers through promotion of networking, advocacy, and education.  This includes working directly with the State Treasurers as well as their staff (approximately 11,000 individuals), and our Corporate Affiliate members.  Compensation commensurate with experience.  Benefits include 401k, insurance, sick and annual leave, telework allowed, and working with a great team and members. Deadline to apply: January 15, 2021
