Advisor to the President

The University Of Maryland, Baltimore is seeking an Advisor to the President.  This position is responsible for providing professional, high-level staffing of the president and his agenda on a daily basis.  The tasks included are planning and coordinating long- and short-term projects in the university’s priority areas; and acting as a liaison between the president’s executive office and others, particularly on internal, oftentimes confidential, matters requiring tact, discretion, and judgment. The position will work closely with the Vice President and Chief Communications Officer/Special Assistant to the President and the Senior Director of Leadership Communications to ensure efficient and seamless continuum of support for the President.  This position will be privy to specialized, sensitive, and private confidential information, conversations, and communications.

Public Affairs Manager

The Public Affairs Manager will write, edit and proofread communications materials including news releases, statements, speeches, op-eds, industry communications, design copy, web content, and occasionally social media content. The position will manage a broad range of issues and projects in coordination with the Vice President of Public Affairs & Communications, including recruiting, educating, and activating third parties to engage on issues that impact the industry.

The Associate Director Federal Relations assists the DC Office leadership to advance The Joint Commission’s government relations agenda by; 1) establishing and maintaining relationships with federal policymakers and influencers; 2) helping to ensure that public policymakers understand and appreciate The Joint Commission’s contribution to national quality and safe care; 3) identifying opportunities to add new, or improve upon existing, partnerships with federal agencies; 4) keeping central office staff informed about policy development that affects Joint Commission programs; and 4) helping to implement the Joint Commission’s advocacy agenda.
