Gingrich nods off on camera before AIPAC remarks

{mosads}Video shows Gingrich with his eyes closed for long stretches, at points waking up and nodding back off.

At one point, Gingrich seemingly acknowledged that his attempt at sleep was being disrupted by the comments of Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.

“Listening to Panetta is not a relaxing experience,” Gingrich said.

The former Speaker was awake before being introduced for his planned remarks, but seemed confused about what was expected during his appearance.

“I understand you have a panel. I look forward to any questions,” Gingrich said.

A moment of silence followed before the AIPAC speaker informed Gingrich there was no panel.

“Mr. Speaker, there is not a panel,” he said. “Please do continue, sir.”

Gingrich then launched into a foreign policy discussion on the threat of Islamic terrorism.
