Former college hoops star endorses Romney in new ad

{mosads}“There’s a really soft spot in my heart for Nevada, having been born and raised there,” Anthony says in the ad. “When you look at unemployment, it’s probably the highest in the country — it’s in double-digits right now.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, at 12.1 percent.

“I voted for Barack Obama, thought he’d be a centrist,” Anthony continues. “I really lost faith in him. I’m supporting Mitt Romney — he’s a no-excuses kind of guy, and I think over the last four years we’ve heard enough excuses.”

Obama leads Romney by 5.2 percentage points in Nevada, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Obama took 55 percent support in the state in 2008, defeating Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) with 43 percent support.
