Perry has ‘no doubt’ Obama’s a citizen, wants to see college transcripts, taxes

Days after casting doubt that President Obama was born in the United States, Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) said Wednesday that he has “no doubt” that the president is an American citizen. But the Republican presidential hopeful opened a new call for disclosure saying he wants to see Obama's tax returns and college transcripts.

Adam Smith of the St. Petersburg Times asked Perry about his comments calling the president’s birth certificate into question.

Smith: So you have no doubt he's an American citizen?

Perry: I have no doubt about it. But here's the more interesting thing. Let's lay out our income taxes. Let's lay our college transcripts. Mine's been on the front page of the paper. So if we're going to lay out all these things, let's lay them all out.

Obama released his long form birth certificate in 2011 after some continued to question wether the president was born in Hawaii.

In addition to a copy of his birth certificate, the White House has also posted Obama’s and Vice President Joe Biden’s financial disclosures.

Obama has not released his college transcripts. Perry's college records were leaked to the Huffington Post earlier this year.
