Cain explains 'aww, shucky ducky' comment on 'Daily Show'

"Aww shucky ducky was a way for me to say 'I'm thrilled to be here and I am happy that you are happy that I'm here,'" Cain said.

Cain, who became know for his colloquial speech on the campaign trail, opened his presidential campaign with the phrase that would live on throughout his campaign.

"Love y'all. My, my my, love ya. Aww shucky ducky as the man would say," Cain said at a rally announcing his run for the White House last May.

The former Godfather's Pizza CEO joined "The Daily Show" correspondent John Oliver on Tuesday in segment titled "Inside the Political Curtain," in the style of the show "Inside the Actors Studio," which was hosted by James Lipton.

Cain defended his remark last October when he said knowing "who is the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan" wouldn't help create jobs.

"There is no way you can know the head of state for all of the nearly 200 nations on the planet," Cain said.

Cain's response prompted Oliver to say, "Mr. Cain I have a question. I hope you don't disappoint. Who is the president of Uzbekistan?"

"The president of Uzbekistan … ," Cain said. He then paused for eleven seconds before being interrupted by Oliver who said, "you didn't need to know then, and you have not found out since."

"I did go an look it up and at one point I knew his name, but since it's not something that I use every day, it's gone again," Cain said

Cain won't win his party's nomination or ascend to the presidency in 2012, but the former GOP hopeful did get the chance on the show to pretend for just a few moments.

In the event of an alien invasion, this is what Cain would say as president:

"Citizens of Earth, it was the spirit of humanity that built this planet. It is that same spirit of humanity that will allow us to defend ourselves against unknown enemies. It is the same spirit of humanity that will allow us to destroy the aliens."
