McAuliffe touts work with McDonnell in new ad


"February 22, a landmark transportation bill is up for consideration in the Virginia legislature. Even though it's backed by Republican Gov. McDonnell, Tea Party Republicans refuse to support the plan," the ad's narrator says. "But Terry McAuliffe thinks this is too important a time for partisan politics. Cuccinelli has focused on softening his image as well, and while the hardline conservative hasn't shifted on issues, polls showed he might have been making some strides on that front. But this past weekend the state GOP nominated a pastor who's made controversial remarks over gays and abortion in the past to be his running mate, which could complicate Cuccinelli's ability to appeal to centrists.
