Cantor: House will vote to repeal healthcare bill next month

His announcement came shortly after the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold most of the president’s law.
{mosads}”If for nothing else, today’s healthcare decision underscores the importance of this election,” Cantor said during a press conference. “The people of America are going to have a choice to make in November and clearly it’s a choice that will bear upon the direction of this country as far as their healthcare is concerned.
“We’re committed to making sure we can return to patient-based healthcare in this country where we can keep costs low and increase access.”
While disappointed by the high court’s ruling, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other House Republicans called the decision a “rallying cry” to win an electoral mandate to repeal it.
“Most Americans, I believe, still, still like the healthcare that they have and the president has continued to say that his law will allow people to keep the healthcare that they like,” Cantor said. “But what we’ve seen is that’s just not the case. ObamaCare will preclude people from having the healthcare that they like; we have seen this law increase cost and we are committed to changing that.”
