Vermont Governor praises federal hurricane response

Vermont was hit by some of the worst hurricane related flooding along the east coast. Rivers overflowed knocking out bridges and buildings and flooding towns. There are three confirmed hurricane deaths in the state and rescue workers are searching for another missing person, according to Shumlin.

The governor defended Vermont's decision not to evacuate prior to Irene.

When asked if he would do anything differently in the lead-up to the hurricane Shumlin said, "absolutely not."

"You can't evacuate Vermont…Frankly we simply can't evacuate an entire state."
