Former GOP presidential candidate Pawlenty endorses Colbert

Former GOP presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty said Tuesday on Comedy CentralThe Colbert Report that he would endorse host Stephen Colbert for the 2012 presidential election.

When asked whom he would endorse now that he is no longer running, Pawlenty replied, You to Colbert.

The former Minnesota governor dropped out of the race in August following a disappointing finish at the Ames straw poll in Iowa. Pawlenty was the first Republican to end his bid for the White House.

He told Colbert he dropped out of the race because he was out of money.

I came in third place [in the Ames straw poll] behind [Reps.] Michele Bachmann [Minn.] and Ron Paul [Texas] — I think thats enough for any one person to endure, Pawlenty said.

Did you think about learning to juggle? Colbert asked.

I thought about shooting sparks up my butt, Pawlenty joked.
