‘Daddy please don’t’: The sentence that kept Mitch Daniels out of the race

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R), who opted against a run for the White House in 2012, said his family did not want him to join the campaign.

“There’s one sentence ... for which a father has no reply, which is ‘Daddy please don’t,’” Daniels told “CBS Sunday Morning” in an interview scheduled to air Sept. 18.

Daniel’s wife, Cheri, said of the decision not to run, “Our family was really concerned about the lack of privacy and that it’s not just for four years or eight years but for the rest of your life.”
