Republican senators are giving poor reviews to President Obama’s latest plan to close the Guantánamo Bay prison in Cuba.

{mosads}Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), who has co-sponsored a resolution rejecting Obama’s plan, said he recently visited the prison and concluded it should continue operating.

“I come away from the visit to Gitmo more convinced than ever that Gitmo is the place,” to house detainees captured on the battlefield, Moran said.

“Bringing detainees to the U.S. certainly creates a whole new set of issues,” Moran adds.
