Rapper Nelly: I shouldn't pay taxes during shutdown

The artist behind hits such as “Hot in Herre” and “Air Force Ones” reasons, “Because you know paying taxes is supposed to pay for the government which, in turn, is not working. So if they’re not working, I shouldn’t have to pay taxes.”

Nelly, 38, sports a massive gold chain as he grins at times and speaks directly to the music channel's cameras, saying, “And me being in the upper echelon of the tax bracket, feel that the money I could be saving over these next couple of days could be very vital to my survival. That’s how I feel.”

And he has a message for Congress: “So ya’ll keep banging.”
