California Gov. Gavin Newsom is set Wednesday afternoon to hold a press conference on the state’s efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Newsom’s remarks come as the U.S. surpassed 3 million coronavirus infections on Wednesday, a grim milestone as the virus surges in more than half of all states. California on Tuesday reported more than 10,000 new cases in a single day, shattering previous records.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 2:55 p.m. EDT.
